Master's Research Overview

Richard Purcell's master's thesis focuses on wildfire management using IoT sensor networks for optimized detection in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). The research evaluates various algorithms for sensor deployment, emphasizing real-time data collection and adaptation to environmental changes. This work contributes to developing efficient systems that enhance the safety and preparedness of communities in wildfire-prone areas. In addition to the thesis parts of this work were presented at the 2023 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things and Intelligence System (IOTAIS) in Bali, Indonesia.
